HHI Series: Construction & Demolition Debris Recycling

Session Description

Hospitals generate vast amounts of waste , and spend valuable financial resources on the environmentally harmful disposal of these varied waste categories. Construction and demolition debris recycling is a unique waste category, in that it is composed of bulky material generated during building construction and renovations, and adds considerable volumes and weight to total facility waste data. Hospitals have increasingly found that by planning ahead, writing C&D recycling into contracting, and through education and tracking, this waste stream can be managed successfully. This HHI level challenges participants to implement a construction and demolition debris recycling program for major renovations and new construction to achieve a recycling and diversion rate of at least 80 percent. Join this webinar to learn more about these strategies to reduce waste, and how other organizations have achieved this goal!
