It will signpost the sector to GHG Protocol Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard: Sector Guidance for Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Products, and provide direction on how to use the guidance to meet the following objectives: reducing greenhouse gases emissions - with associated reputational benefits and ability to differentiate; identifying potential cost savings - directly affecting the bottom line; identifying points of risk in the value chain - and helping to minimise them early; informing customers - stakeholders require robust and well-founded information to ensure confidence in current and future performance; and preparing for any future questions from stakeholders, or for any strengthening of procurement requirements and regulations.
